POSE LIMITED EDITION IRONLAK CAN

Although we dont have any in hand just yet, heres a sneak peak at Pose's brand new limeted edition can of Ironlak (Pose Sushi).  If you are writer (like us) who spent most of their life  and career racking and using what was available, scouring the burbs for obscure discontinued colors, using oven cleaner caps, mixing paint, ect., then you understand how monumental and what an honor this is.
Big thanks to the Ironlak fam for showing real support and dedication to the movement.  If My color is anything like the rest of the paint they produce, it will be thick and vibrant with insane control.
Check your local retailer / distributor and get them while their still available, cause they will move like hot cakes!

More pics, tests and updates coming soon.

THE EXCHANGE

Supervision's Pose has been added to the roster of international graffiti artists participating in the graffiti exchange.  Started by our boy and international graff superstar Jersey Joe in 2005, this grass roots project, is not only a great concept but also continues to produce serious momentum and truly inspiring collaborations, here's the lick....

"The Exchange was started in 2005, with six participants from different areas of the United States. The group is currently made up of 33 members from 12 countries worldwide. The participants of The Exchange trade names and personal styles through sketches. This step is repeated until everyone in the group has traded outlines at least once.

The sketches are drawn, scanned, and traded via email. They are then printed out and executed by the receiving artist in their particular city.

The objective is to create an awareness of distinct lettering styles and trends. The goal is for all in the group to be able to become more versatile through attempts at graffiti styles out of their personal comfort zone. The artists in the group may learn new techniques and compositions from the exchange".

Keep an eye on it its well worth it.

LAYERS

Got itchy waiting at a wall this weekend and decided to start peeling loose paint.  Just like scratching an itch pretty soon I was pulling back years and years of me, my friends and crew-mates work.  In a medium that is so temporary, and in a city where many pieces don't last a day, its pretty wild to see work that's over a decade old partially preserved.  Some embarrassing, some inspiring, it's history none the less.  Good to see remnants of Chi OG's Agent, Trixter and Rude.

CHICAGO'S LESSER KNOWN ARTS HISTORY LESSON or OG ART GALLERY

Today, we are pulling out some goodies from the archives for everyone.  Every city has its own gang history, part of Chicago's are Gang cards, most prominent in the 70's and early 80's, back in the day when a gang was more of a neighborhood crew then what it is today.  Fists, bats, and bottles days, before guns became the norm in the gang.  Most of the gangs were just about the neighborhood and hanging out together.  Stock art from the printer as well as some hand drawn illustrations were the back bone of many of the cards.  Some cards are pretty humorous, with some off the wall illustrations, logos, sayings, and rhymes.  They don't make them like they used to...

We took some inspiration from the original gang cards and did a little round of our own, revamped cards...
